Our structure and
operation
We are a group of consultants associated under the SMCN
Company. Each associate has skills that are relevant to the company’s broad
aim of providing independent, value focused consultancy services. We have
been there and done it in corporate structures but we all have a common
interest in working directly with our clients to provide payback and
accountability.
We are a lean operation that comprises experienced
consultants who get their motivation and job satisfaction from delivering and
developing solutions directly with clients. We have limited overheads, no
overbearing structure, no politics and no vested interests.
We feel that we can offer real value for money services at
very attractive rates.
We are proud and fiercely protective of our impartiality
and independence.
We think that with SMCN we can ensure that Saving Money Comes Naturally
Our origin
SMCN is named after the company owner Steve McNulty. The
company has been in existence for over 10 years. Steve and his team have a
wide experience of Software Development, Professional Services and packaged
systems (principally Manufacturing and Distribution). The company is totally
outward focused with all its energy being directed towards client solutions.
We have no salespeople and we do our own marketing and accounts. You find we
have a particularly keen interest in business and process improvement.
Our market space
We are focused on providing business consultancy services
in the areas where we have accumulated expertise. We will not stray into
areas were our competence or credibility would be compromised. We are looking
to form long-term relationships with our client’s that are based on our wide
expertise and knowledge of their business.

Where are we
We are all what we’d describe as Northern/Midlands based. We’ve
all experienced the toil of many hours on the road before the working day
begins but are now concentrating our efforts on providing support to local
businesses that fall within the Manchester / Sheffield / Nottingham /
Coventry / Birmingham catchments area. Whilst we consider assignments on a
national basis our preference is to be close at hand for the good of our
health, our sanity and the environment!
